Three Camel Lodge, Mongolia
The only luxury eco-lodge in the Gobi Desert, the Three Camel Lodge blends the beauty and spirit of the nomadic people with high standards of service and modern comforts.
Three Camel Lodge is made up of 40 individual 'gers' – the traditional felt tent of the nomadic herder. Translating literally as ‘home’, your elegant ger, with its central oculus affording spectacular views of the night-sky, is equipped with a wooden stove and a hand-painted double or king-size bed as well as a private ensuite, consisting of a western-style toilet and shower.
In a larger ger you will find the Bulagtai Restaurant which serves Mongolian and Western-style dishes sourced where possible from local nomadic families; and after dinner, you might like to make use of the Dino House bar and lounge, from where you can enjoy unobstructed views out over the Gobi Desert, or perhaps learn how to play a traditional Mongolian game from one of the Lodge’s staff.
Three Camel Lodge was built and is run on environmentally and culturally sustainable principles.
