Vogue in Mongolia
World renowned photographer Tim Walker asked Karina to produce his ground breaking fashion shoot in Mongolia, and followed that up with a project with us in Burma. As well as planning all of the logistics pre-departure Karina accompanied Tim and his team on the shoot, helping them with the local traditions and getting to the locations despite Mongolia's challenging roads. The model was Kirsi Pyrhonen and the stylist was Kate Phelan.
Charged with looking after Kirsi, a young model clad in layers of designer clothes in the sometimes challenging weather, Karina got the team and the wardrobe through the project, which involved a yak ride and staying overnight in a traditional Mongolian ger, unscathed. The resulting photos are striking, capturing locals in traditional dress, including a 13-year-old girl riding a reindeer and Kirsi sitting with the 17 year-old grandson of the Lama.
