We’ve been designing and leading small group tours to Mongolia since 2003. We don’t just tick off the sights; these are journeys we believe in.
Mongolia. We want to share the magic of this vast wilderness with everyone, but actually we’ve found that it is a certain type of person that travels to Mongolia on our small group journeys. Passionate travellers, those with a sense of adventure (and a sense of humour), wanting to be challenged, who get a buzz from spontaneity (an invitation to a countryside wedding) and serendipitous encounters (let’s help a family put up their ger). Those who enjoy being taken to the edge of their comfort zone (anyone for lambs testicals?) and want to see, learn and experience new things (whilst enjoying a desert sunset with a gin and tonic in hand). Meticulously planned, tried, tested, tweaked and adjusted so that they really do represent the best that Mongolia has to offer, at the best time of year, coinciding with the best local festivals and paced to make the most of the time you have. Mongolia is not an easy destination to travel independently. Schedules change (often), timings are relaxed (what’s the hurry?) and the weather can be unpredictable (four seasons in one day). With our group tours, we’ve smoothed away some of Mongolia’s rougher edges to include comfortable accommodation where you have time to enjoy it and all activities and meals so you can concentrate on enjoying a unique and memorable trip whilst our expert guides and UB office staff navigate challenges for you behind the scenes.
The size of our groups, typically around eight, allow us to give you authentic, real, encounters with the nomads of Mongolia. More than in any of our other destinations, time is built into itineraries for those chance experiences that happen more frequently in Mongolia than you could ever imagine in such a sparsely populated country! Experiences that you can share, with a sense of comradery with the like minded, passionate travellers that make up your groups. As with our tailormade journeys, we believe in listening to you and understand your interests and motivations to travel, to guide you to choose the right group trip for you.
