Ngapali, Myanmar
With its laid back atmosphere, Ngapali beach is a place where time stands still, allowing you to simply switch off and recharge your batteries.
Ngapali is the country’s premier beach destination with white sand, palm trees and clear turquoise water of the Bay of Bengal. There is nowhere else quite like it. The handful of bungalow-style resorts are spread across more than 15 miles of coast, so there is plenty of space. These are interspersed with traditional fishing villages giving the place a relaxed and authentic cultural vibe. Ox-drawn carts amble along the shore and fishermen draw their boats onto the beach to deliver direct to the restaurants and hotels. Delicious fresh seafood, including fried squid, king prawns, lobster, snapper, barracuda and fish curries area available inside and outside of the hotels, in local restaurants on the seafront and on the road running parallel to the beach.
Take a fishing trip and barbecue your catch on a deserted beach, spend time at leisure swimming, kayaking, snorkelling or scuba diving, or explore local villages by bicycle or motorbike. It is also possible to admire Ngapali and the surrounding coastline from above in a hot air balloon from the end of November until March.
Ngapali beach is the perfect way to end your stay in Myanmar.
